The Durutti Column - Sketch For Summer
The guitar hero Vini Reilly improvises, so the lore goes, over Martin Hannett’s synthy birds in a “Sketch for Summer”. You know this was on the doom-n-gloom Factory label, right?
Durutti Column - Sketch For Summer
Meet Factory Record’s original guitar hero, Vini Reilly, who has been quietly releasing sublime instrumental music since the label’s formation in 1978. This track comes from the Column’s first record, The Return of the Durutti Column. As the legend goes, the original album sleeve was made of sandpaper so it would scratch and damage the records next to it.
